The Comfort Disease

I hate being comfortable. I HATE being comfortable. I HATE BEING COMFORTABLE!!!

Sometimes you just need to say it long enough and loud enough to start believing it. Truth is:

I love being comfortable.

But I need to start to hate it. When I’m comfortable, I become complacent. I become apathetic. I become desperate.

Who wants that?!?

I’m learning that regardless of how comfortable it is, it is not healthy to go back to my emotionally abusive ex. Regardless of how comfortable it is, it’s not okay to stay in a dead end job. Regardless of how comfortable it is to be comfortable, I need to learn how to not be.

Anybody else?

Don’t get too comfortable with who you are at any given time – you may miss the opportunity to become who you want to be.

Releasing The Butterfly

“It happens to everyone as they grow up. You find out who you are and what you want, and then you realize that people you’ve known forever don’t see things the way you do. So you keep the wonderful memories, but find yourself moving on.”
Nicholas Sparks

Sometimes we are like caterpillars, slowly being transformed into beautiful butterflies. If we stay in our cocoon, we’ll never experience the wondrous world around us.

But.

If we take that risk, leave the uncomfortable and fly, we’ll finally see the world from a whole new perspective.

Don’t wait until you are comfortable to explore the world – for you might wake up one day and realize:

The world didn’t wait for you.
